Flight Operations

Townsville Airport is committed to ensuring the safe, secure and efficient operation of all aviation activities. Our Aviation Services team is responsible for overseeing aviation safety, security and emergency management across the airport precinct.

This includes managing runway and airspace requirements, emergency planning, drone regulations, and security procedures. We also coordinate the allocation of itinerant and general aviation aircraft parking, process Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and Visitor Identification Card (VIC) applications and respond to airside incidents and emergencies.

Contractor supervision, airside traffic management and vehicle escort services are all handled by our team to ensure work is conducted safely and without disruption to operations. We also manage the airport’s wildlife hazard reduction program and assess airspace and crane activity applications.

Any Controlled Activity, such as work that may intrude into protected airspace, must be notified to Townsville Airport in writing prior to commencement via aviation@tsvairport.com.au
